Sergeant Gary L. Carr – Chief Instructor and Range Master

Occupation: Retired Police Officer –  USCCA Certified Firearms Instructor and Training Counselor – Licensed By the State of Illinois – A Certified Police Trainer Credentialed by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board. An experienced Public Safety Professional with a demonstrated history of working in the legal services industry. Skilled in Vulnerability Assessment, Risk Mitigation, Crisis Management, Law Enforcement, Emergency Management, Emergency Services, Grade Crossing Collision Investigations and Public Safety Presentations.

Gary Carr

Gary L Carr is a career Public Safety Professional who started his public safety career in 1976 at the Willow Springs Police Department and retired from that Police Department in 2011 at the Rank of Sergeant. Mr. Carr has attended Northwestern’s School of Police Staff and Command, as well as their Executive Management and Senior Leadership programs. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Safety Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement Management. Mr. Carr is currently the Owner and Chief Firearms Instructor at Illinois Concealed Carry Training, LLC in Midlothian, Illinois. Mr. Carr’s goal is to make sure those who attend his classes are armed with more than just a handgun. Education and Training are the key elements in staying safe on the street and Mr. Carr will provide you with current actionable information from a police perspective. Mr. Carr is a “USCCA” Certified Training Counselor and Firearms Instructor who will arm his students with the knowledge to stay physically, morally, ethically and financially safe in the event they have to use their firearm in self-defense or the defense of another.

Dr. Tatiana (Tatum) Parker – Instructor and Range Master

Hometown: Chicago, IL.

Occupation: Educator – USCCA Training Instructor – Licensed By the State of Illinois – Auxiliary Deputy Sheriff with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department

Tatum ParkerDr. Tatiana (Tatum) Parker is formally trained as a molecular cytogeneticist and toxicologist, with a PhD from University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana. She has worked with Sound-tech Suppressors, primarily as a representative at SHOT Shows. Tatiana has extensive training through the Center for Domestic Preparedness and the Department of Homeland Security in Emergency Response and Agricultural Terrorism Response. She is an auxiliary Deputy Sheriff with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, conducting Sex Offender Registration and Prisoner Transport. Tatiana is also a consultant for an Indie Film on TV Universe as an expert in biological zombification. If that isn’t enough….Dr. Parker is also a Certified USCCA Firearms Instructor at Illinois Concealed Carry Training, LLC and we are proud to have her as an instructor.

Joe Cistaro – instructor & Chief Range Master

Hometown: Blue Island, IL

Joe Cistaro

Joe Cistaro is a 28 year veteran police officer, who spent his early years patrolling the City of Blue Island, Illinois. Joe was on the City of Blue Island’s S.W.A.T. team and their Motorcycle Unit. He also spent four years in the United States Army as an Armor Crewman and got to drive the cool military tanks and Jeeps. Joe has been a firearms instructor for over the past 2 decades and is currently protecting the traveling public in Cook County and the five collar counties as a sworn police officer. Joe brings his experience and expertise into the classroom and live fire range to help keep our students safe and well informed and on target.

Sergeant Eric “Iggy” Keyes – Instructor and Range Master

Hometown: Chicago, IL

Occupation: Police Officer – NRA Certified Police Firearms Instructor and Range Master

Eric Iggy Keyes

Eric “Iggy” Keyes has seen it all. Over the years, he’s worked in the homicide unit, as a narcotics detective and as a SWAT team member, learning how to handle anything that comes his way. Eric is comfortable with a wide range of weapons and is particularly skilled with the 1911 pistol and the AR-15 rifle. When he’s not working out or shooting at the range, you’ll find Eric lifting weights at the gym or making music with his friends. A father of two and an aspiring hip-hop and R&B singer, Eric says he loves to make people smile. Mr. Keyes is a police officer in the Chicagoland area and a firearms instructor at “Illinois Concealed Carry Training” in Crestwood, Illinois and the “Metropolitan Police Self-Defense Institute” in Chicago. He has been featured on the History Channel as a contestant on Season #4 of “Top Shot.” He also talks about the violent crime in Chicago during an interview to Cam & Co., about how he and other police officers train new gun owners in self-defense.
